Nicole Garza attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a focus in International Relations. She has been the International Shipping Coordinator for Mammoet USA South Inc since December 2010. Mammoet specializes in heavy lifting and transport solutions at onshore and offshore locations. She joined the OWIT Houston chapter in 2007 and has since served as Hospitality/Special Events chair and OWIT International Representative. This year she will serve as president of the OWIT Houston chapter.

Judith Snively has lived and studied on four continents. She has always maintained a strong desire to use her experiences in careers involving international clients and markets.

For over 20 years Judith has worked with a broad base of clients from many parts of the world, involving both legal and real estate matters. Along with the practice of law Judith has been the principal in "South American Projects", a consulting firm and operated an office in Lima, Peru. She also formed “TLC Trade Company, LLC”, a trading company with offices in Houston, Texas and Santiago, Chile. She is also a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker with a Certified International Property Specialist Designation and the Managing Broker of "International Home Brokerage", a company that focuses on the international real estate markets.

Ms. Snively speaks Spanish and has a degree in International Studies from Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, has studied at the Instituto Nuestra Senora de la Merced in Cordoba,Argentina, she received her law degree from South Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas and participated in a semester of legal courses through the University of Houston Law Center at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City. She teaches classes in international real estate in conjunction with the Houston and Texas Association of Realtors and has participated in Trade Missions to South America with the Texas Economic Development and Tourism Office of the Governor of Texas.

Pam practices International Trade law, where she assists clients in virtually all aspects of import and export related matters, including providing guidance on compliance strategies; providing analysis and advice on the legal trade requirements of governmental programs and agencies (including CBP, BIS, DOS, and OFAC); preparing advisory opinion requests, license applications, ruling requests, and voluntary disclosures; formulating responses to enforcement actions, etc. Pam also assists clients meet their business immigration needs, whether a business desires to transfer an employee from an office abroad to the U.S., or simply needs to hire a foreign national to fill a vacant position. In addition to her involvement with OWIT, Pam is a member of the State Bar of Texas; the College of the State Bar of Texas; the Houston Bar Association; the American Bar Association; the American Immigration Lawyers Association; the Texas Aggie Bar Association; and the Association of Women Attorneys in Houston. Pam earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Texas A&M University in 1981 and her J.D. degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1984. She is conversant in Spanish. With multiple offices and more than 600 attorneys with a broad range of practice strengths, Baker Hostetler serves as “Counsel to Market Leaders,” helping clients in many diverse industries establish, maintain, and protect market-leading positions across the country and around the world.

She is a recognized export letter of credit (LC) professional providing informative articles, workshops, in-house training, advisory services and webinars. A national speaker and panelist at various trade conferences, international organizations such as NACM, GTR, Innovations in Trade, VEDP, Credit Today, ITCCH, IFSA, and published ongoing articles for LCM (Letter of Credit Monitor) a trade journal made up of industry experts from around the world. She enlightens her clients with Export LC Workshops representing "The Beneficiary's Point of View". Her motto is "Turn your discrepancies into payments by Mastering the Art of the Instrument!"

Danielle shares a unique, fresh and insightful view of her experiences and approach to using letters of credit effectively. With 15+ years of hands-on LC experience, while working for Silicon Systems, Inc/Texas Instruments, Rockwell International, Rockwell Semiconductor, Conexant Systems, Inc., Sikorsky Aircraft/HSI- Helicopter Support while managing all aspects of the LC process from start to finish, to getting paid in days!

As a result of her vast experience and success with letters of credit, she represented US Exporters for a UCP600 revision meeting in Paris on the U.S. Banking Committee Team through the USCIB (United States Council for International Business). With a comprehensive understanding of the UCP (Uniform Customs Practice), ISBP (International Standard Banking Practice), and Incoterms, she has made a difference for the Exporters in lessons learned, the competitive advantages of LCs.

Theresa is a Vice President for Roanoke Trade Services, Inc. and has been a member of the Houston, Texas staff for 18 years. She is responsible for sales and customer service specializing in cargo insurance, training/education and sales support. Theresa received a business management degree from LeTourneau University. A constant contributor to professional organizations, Theresa is a member and past-President of the Organization of Women in International Trade, a member and past-President of International Transportation Management Association, a member and participant of the District Export Council and committee chair for its Export University program and serves on the Advisory Board for Houston Community College of Business Administration. Theresa regularly conducts cargo insurance seminars for clients and trade organizations and is an instructor for the Houston Export Academy. In 2006, she was named to the Top 10 Women in Gulf Transportation by the Gulf Shipper Magazine. Roanoke Trade is an affiliate of Watkins Syndicate at Lloyd’s of London and a member of the Munich Re Group. An underwriting agency and broker with 12 U.S. locations and resources worldwide, Roanoke Trade has been providing transportation-related insurance solutions since 1935.

Roopal Badheka is a highly successful Executive with over seventeen years of proven leadership in product portfolio creation, services management, operations and marketing. She is most widely recognized for setting and accomplishing objectives quickly, while building strong relationships across an organization. Whether she is pioneering new business and product development, designing and leading national marketing strategies or providing innovative high-tech systems integration, she is recognized for her ability to create a vision and bring out the best in her teams and delivering results.

While serving as Vice President of Enterprise Products and Services, at Hawaiian Telcom, Roopal managed a product portfolio of $500 million and thus has led several high profile implementations and product & service initiatives, including market research, pricing of services, product design and development. Prior to joining HT, Roopal served as Vice President & Client Executive at Black Box Network Services, where she worked for over fourteen years.

More recently, Roopal is a co-founder of MRM Wines LLC, a company focused on providing and educating emerging markets on wine. She has also been focused on pursing her hobbies such as web design and social media. In addition, she is a published short story writer and also serves as a board member of Paradiegma, the Personal Empowerment Company as well as OWIT – Organization of Women in International Trade.

She is currently a Bond Service Representative/Bond Renewal Specialist for Roanoke Trade Services, Inc. and has been a member of the Houston, Texas staff since 2007. She specializes in providing customer service and assisting Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, NVOCC’s, and Direct Importers in the obtaining, servicing and issuing of U.S. Customs Bonds and Federal Maritime Commission Bonds. She joined the OWIT group in 2011 as a member and became part of the OWIT Leadership Board on the Scholarship Committee in 2012.

Cari Broderson is director of marketing and investor relations for the Greater Houston Partnership’s Opportunity HoustonSM program. Ms. Broderson is responsible for marketing Houston’s 10-county region for business growth and acts as the primary point person assigned to educating members of the Partnership and investors about Opportunity Houston.Ms. Broderson worked for CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Houston, Texas from September 2004 to April 2007 as community relations/special events manager in the government and public affairs department. Her responsibilities included managing the strategic development and execution of CITGO’s $8.8 million cause marketing program with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and oversight of CITGO’s major sponsorship with the Houston Astros. She also organized special events for the company’s senior leadership and employee base integrating activities around the company’s brand. Prior to her work at CITGO Petroleum Corporation, Ms. Broderson worked for the Greater Houston Partnership as manager of international business in the World Trade Division from September 1998 to September 2004. Her responsibilities included promoting Houston internationally and assisting Houston companies with their expansion into overseas markets. Her work also included tracking international trade and policy issues.Ms. Broderson holds a master of arts in Latin American studies from the University of Texas in Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Politics/Economics from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
